My name is Anna. Today is my first day at a new school. I get up early, but I do not want to leave my room. I feel nervous. What if nobody talks to me?

In the kitchen, I eat breakfast with my mother. She puts my lunch in a box. The box is on the table. I need to take it to school.

“Do you have everything?” she asks.

I put a book, two pencils, and a bottle of water in my bag. My father calls from the door.

“Are you ready?”

“Yes!” I say. I close my bag and follow him outside.

We walk past a park. Soon, I can see the school. Children are talking and laughing by the gate. I hold my father’s hand.
